This season we can look forward to the return of the Tony Award winning star of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, Michael Crawford. He will star in the new Jim Steinman musical DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES, which is based on Roman Polanski's 1967 film THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS, which starred Mr. Polanski and the late Sharon Tate. The musical is a mixture of gothic horror and humor in it's telling of the Dracula story. The musical premiered in Austria where it continues to play to sold-out houses. DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES has music and lyrics by Grammy award winning composer Jim Steinman, original German book and lyrics by Michael Kunze, a Broadway book by David Ives, Michael Kunze and Jim Steinman, choreography by John Carrafa, and direction by the Tony Award winning director of URINETOWN, John Rando. Rounding out the cast is Rene Auberjonois, Max Von Essen and Mandy Gonzalez. We met up with the cast and creative team at a rehearsal before their November 21^st opening at The Minskoff Theatre.
